About The Position

Cook Zuppardo’s Family Market, family owned and operated, has been a staple in the community for over 90 years, providing delicious food, great value, and exceptional service. We are seeking professional, service-oriented Cooks to help us continue that tradition. As a Cook at Zuppardo’s Family Market, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality food that meets customer specifications while ensuring freshness, safety, and consistency. Our Cooks are friendly, reliable, energetic, and team-driven individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to multitask, and a commitment to excellent customer service while prepping, cooking, and packaging food.

Requirements

  • Previous cooking or food service experience preferred
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Positive, team-oriented attitude
  • Neat and clean appearance
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for up to 8 hours
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and perform repetitive motions
  • Ability to work in hot and cold environments
  • Ability to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays as required

Responsibilities

  • Arrive to workstation on time, properly groomed, dressed, and ready to work
  • Work all scheduled shifts and attend required trainings and meetings
  • Perform opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
  • Follow all health, safety, food handling, and sanitation procedures
  • Safely operate and clean kitchen equipment
  • Accurately weigh, price, package, and process prepared food items
  • Ensure all ingredients and finished products are fresh and meet quality standards
  • Follow recipes, including measuring, weighing, and mixing ingredients
  • Bake, grill, steam, boil, fry, and prepare meats, vegetables, poultry, seafood, and other foods
  • Present, garnish, and arrange finished dishes
  • Set up workstations with required ingredients and equipment
  • Monitor inventory levels and product quality
  • Maintain food safety and sanitation standards at all times
  • Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils
  • Execute opening and closing procedures
  • Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills, broilers, and fryers
  • Perform other duties as assigned by store or team leadership
