About The Position

Located in Lakewood, Colorado, St. Anthony Hospital is a Level I Trauma Center providing a full range of medical specialties and health care services to Denver and the surrounding region. It serves as the home base for Flight For Life Colorado and features state-of-the-art facilities including four trauma rooms and a dedicated field-to-surgery suite available 24/7. The hospital achieved Magnet designation in 2023 and holds numerous other awards and accreditations from organizations like the American Heart Association, Chest Pain Center, American College of Cardiology, The Joint Commission, Emergency Nurses Association, NAPBC, and American College of Radiology. St. Anthony Hospital combines expert care with the latest technology and innovation, offering a fast-paced environment across various specialties including trauma, cardiology, stroke, neurosciences, breast imaging, cancer/oncology care, and surgery. The Cook position involves preparing food for patients, staff, and visitors, adhering to safe cooking techniques and preparing meals for multiple therapeutic diets. The role requires compliance with state and federal food preparation laws and regulations in a healthcare setting, and supports quality control through recipe adherence and consistent food quality.

Requirements

  • One (1) year foodservice experience.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • If a Food Handlers Permit is a requirement by your state, county or local health code, it must be obtained within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and serves food within guidelines of menu and dietary requirements, using required kitchen utensils and equipment such as slicers, mixers, ovens, fryers, steamers, stove tops, and grills, etc. Modifies preparations to account for food allergies.
  • Follows healthcare foodservice industry standards, regulations, guidelines and procedures including monitoring and maintaining food temperatures during cooking, holding, and storage processes. Avoids cross-contamination of foods and adheres to personal hygiene requirements.
  • Maintains labeling and storage of food, equipment, and machinery.
  • Performs washing and cleaning duties to ensure sanitation & cleanliness in cooking and serving areas.
  • Other duties as assigned by leader.
