About The Position

Join our culinary team as a Cook to prepare wholesome family-style meals that bring joy to our residents, visitors, and employees every day.

Location - Arcadia Retirement Residence (Punahou)

The following shift is available:

Full-Time (40 hours per week), 12:00 pm - 8:00 pm shift

Requirements

• To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. • Associate’s Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Basic skills and ability to learn as needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepares meals according to planned menus and standardized recipes in a sanitary manner to ensure quality with minimum waste.
• Reviews food menus and work orders to determine type and quantities of food to be prepared and to identify all foods required for therapeutic diets before preparation.
• Preps, measures and mixes ingredients according to recipes.
• Assists driver with preparation of meals and loading and unloading of items for delivery.
• Portions and arranges food and distributes to waitstaff to be served.
• Follows proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes.
• Labels and dates all food items in accordance with food storage chart.
• Receives, checks-in, dates and stocks deliveries in appropriate areas.
• Ensures food products are cooked and served in compliance with State of Hawaii Department of Health sanitation standards.
• Performs the necessary duties for emergency drills and situations such as fire, fire alarms, hurricanes, and other possible emergencies as outlined in the Disaster Response Playbook.
• Interacts with residents/clients and co-workers with patience, understanding and kindness in accordance with the Arcadia Family of Companies mission and core values.
