About The Position

The iconic Caribe Hilton is looking for their next Cook to join their Culinary team. Located on a beautiful peninsula in San Juan, Puerto Rico, it is a vibrant destination beach-front resort! Sitting on 17 acres of tropical landscape, the resort is just a short distance from Old San Juan, the vibrant Condado district and the Puerto Rico Convention Center. Featuring a picturesque ocean-side boardwalk, 652 guest rooms and 65,000 square feet of meeting space. Ideal Candidate will have at least 1 year of Cook experience and a Culinary degree. Hotel Industry experience and an up-to-date Food Safety Certification preferred. Candidate will be able to communicate in English and Spanish and understand the languages. Shift Pattern: Flexible schedule required. Rotating shifts throughout the week, including weekends and holidays. Pay Rate: $18.42 per hour What are the benefits of working for Hilton? As a Cook, you are responsible for preparing and presenting high quality dishes to deliver an excellent Guest and Member experience. A Cook will also be required to prepare all mis-en-place and contribute to departmental targets. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

Requirements

  • Culinary degree
  • Previous kitchen experience in similar role
  • Basic food hygiene knowledge
  • Positive attitude
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to work on own or in teams

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and present high quality dishes within company guidelines
  • Keep all working areas clean and tidy and ensure no cross contamination
  • Prepare all mis-en-place for all relevant menus
  • Assist other departments wherever necessary and maintain good working relationships
  • Report maintenance, hygiene and hazard issues
  • Comply with hotel security, fire regulations and all health and safety and food safety legislation
  • Awareness of departmental targets and strive to achieve them as part of the team
  • Be environmentally aware
