About The Position

At Exmoor Country Club, Cooks are vital to delivering a high-quality dining experience by preparing and plating dishes to established recipes and standards. Working closely with the Executive Chef and team, they maintain clean, efficient workstations, follow strict food safety practices, and ensure consistency and excellence across all meals, whether for casual dining, private events, or large functions. The Position Cooks season, prepare, and assist with food production while adhering to all sanitation and hygiene protocols. They organize and properly store unused products, maintain cleanliness across all prep and storage areas, and report maintenance needs. Daily responsibilities include prepping workstations, mastering menu items and dietary accommodations, communicating stock needs, and assisting across different kitchen areas as needed. The History Founded in 1896 as Illinois' third golf club, Exmoor is a private, full-service country club, located in Highland Park, Illinois, 28 miles north of Chicago. With a championship golf course designed by Donald J. Ross, Exmoor continues to fulfill its original mission as a family club devoted to the game of golf, while offering a growing range of sports and social opportunities. Sports at Exmoor include golf, curling, tennis, swimming, ice skating, platform tennis, cross-country skiing, and the fastest-growing sport in America, pickleball. Members of all ages enjoy a year-round schedule of exciting social activities. Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of hands-on experience in cooking, food preparation, and plating
  • Current Food Handlers or Sanitation certification is required
  • Working efficiently under high-volume conditions, especially during special events and holidays
  • Familiarity with menus and the ability to prepare special dietary restrictions is required
  • Standing and walking for periods of time, occasionally carrying trays weighing up to 30 lbs.
  • This position does require work on nights, weekends, and some holidays given the nature of the business.
  • All offers of employment are based upon satisfactory completion of background and drug screening.
