Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 1 year of experience in a kitchen or food preparation role preferred, ideally in a high-volume setting
  • Stand and work in a kitchen for 8–10 hours
  • Lift up to 50 lbs (e.g., food supplies)
  • Handle heat and kitchen tools comfortably

  • Familiarity with basic cooking techniques and kitchen equipment

Responsibilities

  • Prepare ingredients for daily menu items, including chopping vegetables, portioning meats, and assembling salads or sides, following standardized recipes and portion control guidelines.
  • Assist in the preparation of homestyle meals tailored to the preferences and schedules of manufacturing employees.
  • Ensure all food items are prepped in a timely manner to support efficient service during peak dining hours.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area, adhering to Pepi Foods’ Gold Standard kitchen expectations (clean, labeled, and organized).
  • Assist with inventory checks and communicate supply needs to the Dining Center Manager to ensure adequate stock levels.
  • Support the kitchen team in basic cooking tasks, such as grilling, frying, or baking, as directed during busy shifts.
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation standards, including HACCP guidelines, to ensure a safe dining environment.
  • Adhere to workplace safety protocols, including proper use of kitchen equipment (e.g., knives, slicers, ovens) and personal protective equipment.
