About The Position

Under the general supervision of the Sous Chef, the Cook Salad Prep is responsible for preparing hot and/or cold food items to meet the needs of residents, staff, and special functions at La Posada. This role includes adhering to food handling and sanitation standards to contribute to the positive image of La Posada.

Requirements

  • Ability to understand, remember, and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information.
  • Ability to understand, remember, and communicate clearly and in a timely manner routine, factual information.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize own work schedule on short-term basis.
  • Ability to make appropriate decisions given the situation to meet production standards.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and complete multiple tasks.
  • Ability to apply attention and focus to assigned tasks.
  • Good oral and written communication skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective work and customer relationships.
  • Highly organized with an attention to details, ability to multi-task.
  • One-year experience in production cooking in a high-volume restaurant setting as a full-service Cook Salad Prep or equivalent knowledge and experience.
  • ServSafe food safety certified or ability to obtain certification.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares food and condiment items based on daily production charts and other culinary activities.
  • Operates, cleans, and maintains kitchen equipment used in food preparation.
  • Maintains the cleanliness of the work and storage area, including floor sweeping/mopping, and cleaning walls, ceilings, and structures.
  • Assists with room set-up for special events or functions.
  • Follows safety guidelines for food preparation and physical safety.
  • Understands and follows standardized recipes and preparations.
  • Records and maintains proper log books in accordance with Dining Service procedures.
  • Operates, cleans, and sanitizes work areas and kitchen equipment.
  • Adheres to personal grooming guidelines and regulations as set forth by La Posada.
  • Attends departmental staff meetings and other related meetings and in-services as required.
  • Participates in additional duties as assigned by the Supervisor, aligned with qualifications and can be reasonably expected to be completed with minimal orientation.
