About The Position

The position involves preparing, sautéing, broiling, frying, baking, and grilling food items according to kitchen needs. The cook will operate various kitchen equipment including grills, fryers, broilers, ovens, and French tops. Responsibilities include performing preliminary preparation work in a timely manner, ensuring ingredient supply levels are accurate, and maintaining a sanitary and organized work area. The cook must understand and adhere to proper safety and health codes and regulations, ensuring all assigned areas are clean and free of debris. Additionally, the cook will demonstrate proper care, storage, use, and cleaning of all tools and equipment, and must maintain product knowledge by correctly storing and handling perishables. The cook will prepare food products according to standard recipes and specifications and will communicate effectively with other team members, including service and kitchen maintenance personnel. Other job-related duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

  • Effective communication in English, both verbal and written.
  • Minimum of one year experience as a cook.
  • Ability to work from a standing position for extended periods.
  • Neat appearance with good personal hygiene.
  • Ability to uphold and demonstrate the highest level of integrity.
  • Must be able to obtain a required Virginia Lottery Non-Gaming License.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, sauté, broil, fry, bake, and grill food items according to kitchen needs.
  • Operate grill, fryer, broiler, oven, and French top.
  • Perform preliminary preparation work in a timely manner.
  • Ensure ingredient supply levels are accurate.
  • Move items from shelves to carts and transport them to assigned stations for restocking.
  • Maintain required food items in assigned station from support areas.
  • Maintain a sanitary and organized work area.
  • Understand and maintain proper safety and health codes and regulations.
  • Ensure all assigned areas are clean and free of debris.
  • Demonstrate proper care, storage, use, and cleaning of all tools and equipment.
  • Demonstrate competent product knowledge by correctly storing and handling perishables.
  • Prepare food products according to standard recipes and specifications.
  • Communicate effectively with other team members.
  • Assist with any other job-related duties as assigned.
