About The Position

As a Cook with Lafayette Regional Health Center, you will be part of an organization devoted to giving back to the community. Under the close direction of the Dietary Director, you will prepare and serve all hot food items for breakfast, lunch, and evening meals for patients and cafeteria patrons. You will maintain a high standard of food handling and direct the activities of dietary employees as directed by the Dietary Director. Additionally, you will be responsible for baking, specific cleaning assignments, and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to read and write in the English language.
• One (1) to three (3) years of experience in institutional food service preferred.
• Knowledge and use of standardized recipes and therapeutic diet preparation preferred.
• Supervisory skills preferred.
• Familiarity with OSHA hazardous material standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve hot food items for breakfast and lunch.
• Prepare evening meals for patients and cafeteria patrons.
• Maintain high standards of food handling.
• Direct activities of dietary employees as directed by the Dietary Director.
• Perform specific cleaning assignments as written or assigned.
• Responsible for baking.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Dietary Director.
