About The Position

Behavioral Hospital of Bellaire offers multiple inpatient and outpatient programs designed to meet the needs of every patient, no matter the issue. From our inpatient adult, to our outpatient partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs, our continuum of care can provide the treatment necessary to move our patients toward a more independent future. Behavioral Hospital of Bellaire is seeking a PRN Cook to assist in the preparation and provision of quality meals and nutritional services to patients and staff.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Two (2) years’ experience in quantity cooking, preferred.
• Food Service Food Handler’s permit.
• Successful completion of CPR and Handle With Care certification; certifications may be obtained during orientation.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and delivery of patient meals, delivering food tray to units as needed.
• Ensure that the cafeteria and dining room remain clean and in adherence to all safety and health standards.
• Accurately prepare food for modified diets, consulting with Dietician as required.
• Adhere to standards for food temperatures during cooking, serving and storage of leftovers.
