About The Position

SSM Health Rehabilitation Hospital-Oklahoma City is seeking a Cook for a Per Diem/PRN/As Needed position. The Cook will deliver superior quality in all tasks and treat others with respect. This role requires a results-oriented team player who is resourceful and inventive in problem-solving, thriving in a dynamic environment. Responsibilities include preparing foods for patients, staff, and guests, assisting with general cleaning of cooking and eating areas, and supervising dietary staff in the absence of the Manager, ensuring adherence to facility and departmental policies, sanitation, safety, and infection control.

Requirements

• One (1) year cooking experience required.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Culinary Arts degree preferred.
• Completion of state or local food safety training course preferred.
• Healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare foods for patients, staff, and guests.
• Assist with general cleaning of the cooking and eating areas.
• Supervise dietary staff in the absence of the Manager.
• Ensure adherence to facility and departmental policies and procedures.
• Follow proper sanitation, safety, and infection control policies.
• Accept and understand both verbal and written instructions.
• Provide high quality food preparation and service.
• Clean and maintain equipment to meet department standards.
• Maintain high standards of quality food production and portion control.
• Demonstrate a willingness to help with work that needs to be done.
• Take initiative to identify problems and bring about positive solutions.
