About The Position

Join our not-for-profit organization that has provided over 100 years of housing and services to seniors with a commitment to quality care and service in a Christian environment. The position involves preparing, assembling baked goods, cooking, seasoning, and portioning food for patients/residents, staff, and visitors of the designated facility, while adhering to food quality standards of appearance, taste, temperature, and sanitation. The role requires excellent communication and teamwork skills, as well as the ability to thrive in a dynamic culinary environment. You will follow standardized recipes and HACCP guidelines, document necessary steps, and operate various kitchen equipment. The position may also involve additional departmental duties as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Minimum of six months of applicable experience preferred.
• On-the-job training will be provided.
• Serv Safe certification may be required depending on location.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification may be required depending on location.
• Valid Driver's License may be required depending on location.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and assembles baked goods, cooks, seasons, and portions food for patients/residents, staff, and visitors.
• Adheres to food quality standards of appearance, taste, temperature, and sanitation.
• Performs washing and cleaning duties to ensure sanitation and cleanliness in cooking and serving areas.
• Maintains labeling and storage of food, equipment, and machinery.
• Follows standardized recipes and HACCP guidelines to prepare, store, and use food and food products.
• Documents HACCP steps, temperatures, and outcomes.
• Operates kitchen equipment such as mixers, slicers, kettles, ovens, and dishwashers.
• Assists with other assigned departmental duties as needed.
• Works independently when necessary and understands food safety and sanitation processes.
