About The Position

As a Cook at Watercrest Senior Living Group, your responsibilities include preparation and serving of meals, sanitation of food service areas, accurate record keeping, receiving, rotating and inventory of products and regulatory compliance. You will provide a quality dining service by ensuring the food service is presented in an attractive, gracious and timely manner. The role emphasizes servant leadership, directing all aspects of decision making and ensuring resident satisfaction through culinary excellence.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • SERV Safe certification (Required)
  • Two (2) years’ experience in professional food service
  • A culinary apprenticeship or training is preferred

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of customer service principles and practices

Responsibilities

  • Conduct meal preparation, service, and clean-up in accordance with nutritional guidelines, regulations and prescribed resident diets
  • Knowledge of proper use of all cooking appliances
  • Assist with maintaining emergency food supplies
  • Communicate with all culinary vendors
  • Ensure presence in the dining room for resident satisfaction
  • Assist in providing adaptive equipment for residents when necessary
  • Ensure food service is presented in an attractive, gracious and timely manner
  • Ensure dishes, cooking utensils, and pots and pans are stored properly
  • Do pre-preparation for meals later in the day, week, or weekend or for special events
  • Report to the Executive Chef any equipment and supplies that are needed
  • Provide a high level of culinary customer service and promote a restaurant style dining atmosphere
  • Maintain a safe, sanitary, clean, and organized cooking area
  • Must be in company uniform and resident ready at all times
  • Perform other related essential duties as assigned
