About The Position

The Cook is responsible for preparing food for guests in accordance with the recipes set by the Executive Chef while adhering to all quality and safety standards. Essential duties and tasks that must be performed with or without reasonable accommodation include practicing, supporting, and maintaining the Mission, Vision and Values of WarHorse Gaming, LLC, providing fast, friendly, professional, and responsive guest service to team members and venue guests, and maintaining current and accurate information regarding food items. The Cook will prepare food items per work order as required, utilizing proper cooking methods, and maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of all work areas.

Requirements

  • Must be 19 years or older.
  • High school diploma, GED, or relevant experience.
  • One (1) to five (5) years prior experience as cook in high-volume food service operation.
  • Knowledge of kitchen sanitation, operation, and maintenance of kitchen equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and nomenclature.
  • Required to taste and smell foods.
  • Knowledge of weights, measures, and recipe yield.
  • Possessing and maintaining culinary tools (knives) to perform the necessary job functions.
  • Excellent guest service/communication skills.
  • Ability to tolerate industry standard chemicals used for cleaning and sanitizing.
  • Ability to work at a fast pace in often stressful environment.
  • Maintain a neat, professional, well-groomed appearance.
  • Must be able to follow directions and take direction.
  • Possess and display self-control and organizational skill set.

Responsibilities

  • Practices, supports, and maintains the Mission, Vision and Values of WarHorse Gaming, LLC.
  • Provides fast, friendly, professional, and responsive guest service to team members and venue guests.
  • Maintains current and accurate information regarding food items.
  • Prepares food items per work order as required including breakfast items, entrees, and desserts according to guest request.
  • Utilizes proper cooking methods and handles, stores, and rotates food properly.
  • Exhibits basic food preparation skills and demonstrates a willingness to seek skill advancement.
  • Maintains cleanliness, readiness, and sanitation of all work areas.
  • Takes responsibility for and remedies any noticeable health code or safety violations.
  • Operates and maintains all equipment and utensils as required.
  • Provides personalized service to customers and team members.
  • Knows and promotes current casino events and programs.
  • Leads by example and takes responsibility for the details of the job description.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
