About The Position

The Cook/Dietary Aide is responsible for safe and sanitary preparation of food served to patients, residents, clients, physicians, and employees of the organization.

Requirements

  • Must be able to read, write, make simple calculations, and follow oral and written directions accurately.
  • Knowledge of sanitation and cleanliness is required.
  • Accuracy in following written and verbal orders is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of preparation and serving of food is preferred.
  • Previous experience in food service is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and serves meals to patients, residents, clients, visitors, physicians, and employees in a safe and attractive manner.
  • Ensures that dishes and cooking equipment are cleaned according to standards.
  • Ensures food and equipment used to prepare food are maintained in a sanitary condition.
  • Ensures that freight is checked in and put away in a timely manner.
  • Adheres to standard working schedule.
  • Maintains a clean and appropriate personal appearance.
  • Displays an appropriate, positive attitude toward the job.
  • Maintains or exceeds standards for good quality work.
  • Follows accepted standard safety practices as directed by the organization.
  • Shows understanding of the importance of visitors and treats all patients, residents, and clients with care, respect, and gives first consideration for their needs.
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned.
