The Cook position involves preparing assigned items according to standardized recipes including preparation of vegetables, roasting, baking, broiling, and frying entree items. The role includes preparing breakfast hot foods and sandwiches, setting up tray-line, slicing meats, and pre-portioning necessary items. The Cook will maintain all hot production areas and equipment in an orderly, clean and sanitary condition.

  • Prepares assigned items according to standardized recipes.
  • Prepares vegetables, roasts, bakes, broils, and fries entree items.
  • Prepares breakfast hot foods and sandwiches.
  • Sets up tray-line.
  • Slices meats and pre-portions necessary items.
  • Maintains all hot production areas and equipment in an orderly, clean and sanitary condition.
  • Checks foods prepared for proper taste, texture, appearance, temperature and quality.
  • Complies with and practices Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point procedures.
  • Participates in maintaining food production storage areas, preparation areas, entree serving area and equipment utilized in these areas.
  • Sets up entree and vegetable soup station on the tray assembly line and checks temperatures.
  • Performs other duties as requested.
  • High school diploma or equivalent GED.
  • Two years experience in cooking in all areas of hot production.
  • One year experience in cooking cold food.
  • One year experience in volume cooking.
