About The Position

This is a part-time cook position in the kitchen of the Fond du Lac County Jail. The work schedule varies, averaging 40 hours during a bi-weekly pay period. Work hours may occur between the hours of 4:00 AM and 6:00 PM depending on the shift. Prior cooking experience is desired, preferably in a larger food service.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of food service operations to include safety and sanitary procedures related to food preparation services.
  • Ability to assist in preparing and serving large quantities of food.
  • Ability to lift and move food commodities weighing 25/50 pounds.
  • Graduation from high school or the equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic knowledge or experience in large quantity baking is desirable but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily cooking and/or baking of meals.
  • Ensure that proper cleanliness, sanitary, and security standards are maintained within the food service environment.
  • Assist with the preparing of special dietary needs/requests of inmates.
  • Ensure accountability of silverware, dishes, and miscellaneous cooking utensils for purposes of employee safety and inmate security.
  • Maintain effective communication with fellow employees ensuring effective and harmonious working relationships.
  • Complete special projects and assignments when requested.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
