About The Position

Under supervision, assists in planning, preparing, cooking and serving meals and cleaning the kitchen and surrounding work area at the Muckleshoot Senior Center or other designated sites.
Because of the Tribe’s commitment to community service and the well being of it’s members, each employee may be expected to perform a wide range of office and field duties from time to time. Such duties may or may not be related to their regular responsibilities.

Requirements

• Graduation from high school or equivalent
• State of Washington Food Handler’s Permit
• Six (6) months of commercial cooking experience or experience preparing a variety of food in large quantities is required.
• Knowledge of food preparation and cooking
• Knowledge of food service equipment
• Knowledge of basic nutritional guidelines
• Knowledge of Washington State Health and Fire codes
• Knowledge of safety and sanitation procedures
• Skill in cooking, baking and serving high-quality, nutritious meals
• Skill in oral and written communications
• Skill in working as a team member

Responsibilities

• Assists in preparing, cooking and serving food.
• Receives and stores food and cleaning supplies.
• Cleans work site; maintains good housekeeping and sanitary conditions.
• Maintain Washington State Health Code standards.
