The Cook will prepare food, do quality checks, and assist the department in all areas as needed.

• Use of kitchen utensils, char-grill, griddle, steamer, steam kettle, fryers, buffalo chopper, dish machine, slicer, espresso machine and convection ovens.

Responsibilities

• Set-up and cleanup of cooking line/equipment.
• Communicate with Cafeteria Helpers and Manager in determining product and quantities to be ordered.
• Properly heat, re-heat and cool down products as well as label and date products correctly as determined by the Kent County Health Department.
• Assist those Associates working “cash,” “server,” and “dish room.”
• Assists with purchasing supplies as needed
• Butchering and portioning of fresh meats and seafood as needed for daily needs.
• Perform line quality checks of: Hot cold and beverage lines as to meet BISSELL standards.
• Assist in the training of new employees and any new recipes that are implemented.
• Assist in the proper rotation of food products to ensure optimal quality.
• Assist in the development of weekly menus and daily features.
• Work as a backup in coffee bar as needed or absence of barista.
• Receiving deliveries and organizing stock in the proper locations.
• Aid in the preparation of any Catering/Special and offsite events, including “in-flight food”
• Assist the Catering Coordinator in ordering proper product and quantities in the Manager’s absence.
• Operates with the trust and confidentiality required of serving the Bissell family as needed
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
