Check us out: The Drake Hotel | Dine & Drink The ideal candidate for the Cook 1 position at The Drake Hotel is a skilled culinary professional with a minimum of two years of hands‑on cooking experience in restaurant or hotel settings. Experience in hotel banquet operations is preferred, though not required. This individual should demonstrate strong technical cooking abilities, consistency, and a commitment to high-quality food preparation. Depending on prior experience and skill set, the successful candidate will be placed in either the hotel’s Banquet Department or the iconic Coq d’Or restaurant, contributing to the exceptional dining standards The Drake is known for. Full-Time Shift Pattern: PM with the flexibility to work weekends and holidays Pay Rate: $28.26 an hour What will I be doing? As a Cook I, you would be responsible for preparing, maintaining and monitoring quality control for cold and hot food items in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding service and financial profitability. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

Responsibilities

  • Prepare food items according to designated recipes and quality standards
  • Support food preparation in Coq d’Or or the Banquet Department, depending on assigned placement.
  • Collaborate with culinary team members and communicate effectively during service.
  • Maintain cleanliness and comply with food sanitation standards at all times
  • Ensure knowledge of menu and all food products
  • Assist in food preparation for high volume banquet events.
  • Prepare guest orders in a friendly, timely and efficient manner
  • Practice correct food handling and food storage procedures according to federal, state, local and company regulations
