About The Position

This is a seasonal position which is on-call or as needed not to exceed 1040 hours per fiscal year. Under close supervision, performs work of routine difficulty preparing meals, cleaning, and ordering food and supplies specific to the assigned department.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• No experience required.
• Must possess a valid Arizona driver's license.
• Must retain Yavapai County Food Handler's Certificate.
• Must be a minimum of twenty-one (21) years of age and be a U.S. citizen or have legal resident status.
• Must successfully pass a pre-employment character and fitness background investigation, including but not limited to: fingerprinting and criminal history records check, (MVD) driving records check, psychological evaluation, submit to and pass an alcohol and illegal drug use screening.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of Arizona Food Code.
• Knowledge of business English, spelling, grammar, punctuation, and composition.
• Knowledge of clerical office practices and procedures.
• Knowledge of research techniques and report writing.
• Knowledge of current Microsoft Office software.
• Knowledge of filing and recordkeeping.

Responsibilities

• Plans, prepares, cooks, and serves meals for detainees and staff.
• Cleans kitchen and dining areas.
• Washes and sanitizes dishes and equipment.
• Receives, inspects, and ensures the quality and quantity of food.
• Maintains records and inventories as required.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
