Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Thorough knowledge of cooking techniques.
  • 4-5 years of experience in food preparation preferred.
  • Must understand and speak the English language.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to walk/stand for long periods.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and cooks food, displaying and plating foods as required.
  • Assists in reaching profitability, guest satisfaction, workforce strength, and compliance goals.
  • Provides instruction and guidance to Cook IIs and maintains a clean food preparation area.
  • Ensures adequate supply of foods and seasonings for service.
  • Checks that food is properly prepared for cooking and serving.
  • Prepares a variety of food items according to directions.
  • Works most cooking stations and has knowledge of all kitchen equipment.
  • Recommends menu adjustments based on food quantities and guest demand.
  • Ensures cleanliness of food preparation areas.
  • Organizes cooking and food storage areas.
  • Maintains walk-in coolers according to health standards.
  • Follows safety rules and keeps work area clean.
  • Creates specials for assigned outlets using new and dated products.
  • Ensures sanitation guidelines are followed.
  • Labels, dates, and stores products according to guidelines.
  • Opens assigned outlets in a timely fashion.
  • Communicates with guests and colleagues in a professional manner.
  • Follows recipes to exact standards.
  • Leads by example and mentors fellow team members.
  • Reports to Sous Chef for daily instructions.
  • Directs line staff in absence of Sous Chef.
  • Prepares plate menu items with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy.
  • Assists in other areas of the kitchen as instructed.
  • Demonstrates abilities to meet performance expectations.
