Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Thorough knowledge of cooking techniques.
  • 4–5 years of experience in food preparation preferred.
  • Must understand and speak the English language.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to walk/stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook food, displaying and plating foods as required.
  • Assist in reaching profitability, guest satisfaction, workforce strength, and compliance goals.
  • Provide instruction and guidance to Cook IIs and maintain a clean food preparation area.
  • Check and ensure adequate supply of foods and seasonings for service.
  • Prepare a wide variety of food items of medium and higher complexity according to directions.
  • Work on most cooking stations throughout the property and have knowledge of all kitchen equipment.
  • Recommend adjustments to menu cycles based on food quantities and guest demand.
  • Ensure cleanliness of food preparation areas from start to finish.
  • Organize cooking and food storage areas.
  • Maintain walk-in coolers in accordance with health standards.
  • Follow safety rules and keep work area clean and orderly.
  • Create specials for assigned outlets using both new and dated products.
  • Ensure sanitation guidelines are followed as directed by the local health department.
  • Open assigned outlets in a timely fashion as instructed by a Chef.
  • Communicate with guests, colleagues, and management in a polite, professional manner.
  • Follow recipes to exact standards and attend scheduled meetings/classes/training.
  • Lead by example and mentor fellow team members.
  • Report to Sous Chef at the start of shift for daily specials and menu changes.
  • Direct line staff in absence of Sous Chef.
  • Prepare plate menu items as ordered with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy.
  • Assist in other areas of the kitchen as instructed by Sous Chef.
