About The Position

The Cook 1 position involves the preparation of assigned menu items according to standardized recipes and specifications. Responsibilities include chopping, dicing, and cutting various meats, cheeses, vegetables, and fruits for salad and sandwich preparation using hand knives and electric slicers. The cook combines ingredients and plates entrees, salads, sandwiches, desserts, ice cream, beverages, and appetizers for service. The role requires maintaining food levels, ensuring ingredient supply accuracy, and adhering to safety and cleanliness standards. The Cook 1 must also coordinate with the shift leader regarding product needs and maintain proper food rotation procedures. Customer service is a key aspect of the role, including handling customer concerns and processing transactions accurately.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • One year previous culinary experience in a high volume food service operation preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand basic English.
  • Ability to get along with co-workers and work as a team.

Responsibilities

  • Operate grill, fryer, and French-top as per outlet expectations.
  • Maintain required par levels of food items in assigned station.
  • Ensure ingredient supply levels are accurate.
  • Transport items from shelves to carts for restocking.
  • Maintain a high level of service while interacting with co-workers and wait staff.
  • Observe all safety rules and regulations.
  • Ensure cleanliness of assigned areas.
  • Maintain proper food levels to ensure high quality products.
  • Coordinate with shift leader for next day's product needs.
  • Take actions to ensure quality and reduce waste.
  • Maintain proper food rotation procedures.
  • Adhere to regulatory, safety, departmental, and company policies.
  • Handle and solve customer concerns and questions.
  • Operate cash register and settle checks accurately.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work area and dining room floor.
