About The Position
Position: Cook/Housekeeper Full-Time Are you looking for a full-time position providing nutritious meals to children and maintaining clean classroom environment? Read on.... Cook: Provides nutritious meals; breakfast, lunch and snack to a classroom of preschool aged children and teaching staff, following the Child Care Food Program Guidelines. Food Substitutions are provided to children with specialized diets. Our Cook does the center shopping and helps children with lunch set up and clean up. Grocery shopping is generally done weekly. Our Cook ensures a clean and sanitized kitchen area and tracks meals provided on production worksheets as well as a menu software program. Training is provided during orientation and through monthly Cooks meetings and In-service training. Housekeeper: Responsible for the daily cleaning and sanitizing of the preschool classroom that includes bathrooms and office areas. Following the Housekeeper Checklist, daily responsibilities include vacuuming, mopping, disinfecting bathrooms and taking out the garbage. Monthly deep cleaning is done on staff workdays. Full Time Position: M-F cooking 7:30 am to 12:30 pm; housekeeping after 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm Or M-F housekeeping from 6:30 am - 7:30am into your cooking shift 7:30 am - 12:30 pm Pay Range: $ 16.90 - $ 17.50 per hour Benefits: You can enjoy great benefits such as Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), Life Insurance, and Paid Time Off. Requirements
- Education/Experience: High School Diploma or equivalency
- Minimum one-year of food service experience and minimum one-year experience cleaning required
- ServSafe Certification preferred at time of hiring. Required within 6 months from date of hire
- Basic computer skills/experience
- K nowledge of: Required food temperatures Preventing cross contamination of foods
- Special Requirements Valid California Driver's License and proof of current automobile insurance coverage
- Physical Examination, proof of current negative Tuberculosis (TB) test, immunizations required by the organization
- Willingness to work irregular hours, attend night meetings and travel, as agency requires
