About The Position

As a partner in building brighter futures for youth and their families, your role will be to assist with and facilitate the food preparation at our residential facilities that align with The Village Network’s Mission, Vision & Values.

Requirements

  • High School Degree/GED required.
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • 1+ year of previous experience with large residential or building housekeeping responsibilities and 1+ years of previous experience in food preparation for larger groups of people.
  • Valid Ohio Driver’s License and maintains a driving record that allows that individual to be insurable with the insurance company providing The Village Network with vehicle insurance.
  • Interpersonal skill ability to be able to work with students, staff, vendors, agencies, and administrators. Moderate communication skills, ability to multitask, and be creative in food preparation for special events; ability to work with varied multi-disciplinary team of professionals.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction. Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality when dealing with student and staff information.
  • Ability to comply with The Village Network requirements for using restraints including sufficient strength and completion of extensive training.
  • Must be alert to problems, needs or emergencies that might arise on any shift, maintaining a safe environment for the clients.
  • Ability to handle bending, stooping, lifting, pushing, reaching, and walking for entire shift
  • Knowledge and ability to perform processes and safely use equipment related to all aspects of housekeeping service.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds independently

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in working with children/adolescents helpful. Knowledge of state and federal guidelines and requirements. Must possess basic reading, writing, and math skills to complete necessary documents.

Responsibilities

  • Follows daily individual job duties as designated by the Dining Services Manager
  • Assist with preparation and serving of meals for residents and staff.
  • Assist in maintaining food inventory to ensure the kitchen is adequately stocked with fresh and non-expired food.
  • Assists in completing all necessary documentation for the USDA Food Programs. Assist with budgets and food cost goals.
  • Maintains a clean kitchen and dining room area with tasks including, but not limited to, assuring all equipment is in proper working condition, completing repair orders, and maintains daily inventory of all food supplies, table service, and equipment.
  • Assists in catering for special events as needed.
  • Follows daily individual job duties as designated by the Dining Services Manager.
  • Ensure that bathrooms are clean and sanitary.
  • Sweeps and mops floors in all common areas.
  • Empties all trash cans in all public areas and replaces can liners.
  • Assists with serving meals for all residents.
  • Assists with stocking of food inventory in the kitchen.
  • Assists in completing all necessary documentation and ordering of non-food and cleaning supplies. Assist with meeting cleaning budget goals.
  • Assists with maintaining a clean kitchen and dining room area.
  • Assists with any special events as needed.
  • Assists in the behavioral management of the residential campus when not completing primary tasks.
