About The Position

Requirements

  • One to three months of food service/preparation experience or related experience.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • NRA Food Service Sanitation or equivalent/Safe Serve certification.
  • Valid State Driver's License.

Responsibilities

  • Assist cooks in preparing and serving food.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining and kitchen areas.
  • Notify staff of items that need replenishing and restocking.
  • Rotate perishable items to ensure freshness.
  • Serve students, staff, and guests courteously and efficiently.
  • Assist with dishwashing when necessary.
  • Change and empty trash receptacles.
  • Arrive at work in proper attire and neat appearance.
  • Familiarize with emergency communication systems.
  • Assist with programming and activity events as required.
  • Perform food preparation tasks such as washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding vegetables and fruits.
  • Clean, cut, and grind meats, poultry, and seafood.
  • Bread food items by dipping in crumbs, flour, and batter.
  • Stir and strain soups and sauces, weigh or measure ingredients.
  • Carry food pans, kettles, and trays to and from workstations.
  • Store foods properly according to temperature requirements.
  • Clean and sanitize kitchen areas, equipment, and utensils.
  • Distribute supplies and equipment using a hand truck.
  • Assist in inventory of supplies and materials.
  • Operate kitchen equipment such as dishwashers and mixers.
  • Follow safety and sanitary rules related to food handling.
  • Meet performance standard goals.
  • Adhere to property control policies and procedures.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and sanitation practices.
  • Comply with all relevant guidelines and policies.
  • Model and mentor appropriate career success skills.
  • Participate in mandatory staff training.
