At Kinder Retirement & Rehabilitation we pride ourselves on the culinary creations served from our kitchen, and are looking for Cooks Helpers and Dishwashers to help support our team. As a Cooks Helper or Dishwasher in our skilled nursing facility your job is to assist in providing a consistent level of high-quality meals for our residents. You will be responsible for performing a variety of routine duties related to the preparation and serving of food; cleaning and sanitation of kitchen and dining area; washing of dishes and cooking utensils. JOB SUMMARY The Cook's Helper performs a variety of tasks including maintenance of kitchen sanitation, food preparation and other duties as assigned. EDUCATION Must be able to read, write and follow oral and written instructions. QUALIFICATIONS 1. Previous experience preferable but not essential. 2. Physically able to carry out duties of the Cook's Helper. 3. Must have a pre-employment and an annual Tuberculosis screening examination.

Responsibilities
- Has the ability to work well with co-workers.
- Sanitizes kitchen equipment, utensils and work area as assigned.
- Assists with food preparation as assigned.
- Assists with tray assembly and service.
- Assists in dishwashing operation as necessary.
- Prepares food in advance for the week's menu as assigned.
- Attends in-service and training programs as scheduled.
- Assists the Cook in completion of food service tasks.
- Performs other tasks as assigned.
- Attends required staff in-services, meetings, orientation, and continuing education activities as required.
- Is aware of and adheres to Patient’s Bill of Rights and confidentiality of patient information including HIPAA regulations.
- Interacts with patients and family members, co-workers, clinical and ancillary staff in a non-judgmental, supportive and calm manner.
- Is aware of Patient Abuse Reporting Law.
- Participates as assigned in the orientation of new staff and demonstrates a positive, helpful and enthusiastic attitude.
