About The Position

In this role, you will typically work a Wed-Sun, 5 evening a week schedule. The Cook is responsible for preparing recipes and food items in accordance with the Executive Chef's requirements.

Requirements

  • 1 year prior experience as a cook preferred in a fine dining or upscale establishment.
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must obtain a Food Handlers certificate from County Health Department.
  • Ability to uphold and demonstrate the highest level of integrity in all situations.
  • Must pass background check.
  • Must present a neat and professional appearance.
  • Ability to perform basic/intermediate math skills including measurement of products.
  • Ability to read, write and understand English.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, sauté, broil, fry, bake, and grill food items in accordance with kitchen needs.
  • Perform various job duties that will include operation of grill, fryer, broiler, oven, and French top.
  • Follow step by step instructions and food preparation guidelines.
  • Perform preliminary preparation work in a timely manner.
  • Ensure ingredient supply levels are accurate.
  • Move items from shelves to carts and transport to assigned stations for restocking purposes.
  • Maintain the required par of food items in their assigned station from support areas throughout the property.
  • Maintain a sanitary and organized work area.
  • Understand proper safety and health codes and regulations and maintain them regularly.
  • Ensure all areas assigned are clean and free of debris.
  • Demonstrate proper care, storage, use, and cleaning of all tools and equipment.
  • Demonstrate competent product knowledge by correctly storing and handling all perishables.
  • Prepare food products according to standard recipes and specifications.
  • Effectively communicate with other team members, including service and kitchen maintenance personnel.
  • Maintain the appropriate appearance of work station in accordance with county health and department service standards.
  • Ensure that side-work, supplies, and stock is prepared for the shift and closing side-work is prepared for next shift.
  • Follow all applicable safety procedures.
  • Follow all standard operating procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned and requested.

Benefits

  • Pay will be determined based on experience $18hr.-19.50hr.
