About the position
As a Denny's Cook, you do more than follow a recipe. You create food that could be a mood-changer for our guests. It's not just about getting it out fast; it's about getting it out right, with passion. You will prepare food to set recipes following brand standards for proper food temperature and presentation while maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment. You will also honor guest requests for special orders, clean and organize supplies, monitor waste, and assist team members to ensure total guest satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and present food to order following Denny's menu and food specifications.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local safe food handling regulations.
- Honor guest requests for special orders.
- Correctly call the wheel.
- Clean, complete side-work, and organize supplies as required.
- Monitor waste and other food cost controls.
- Assist other team members willingly without being asked.
- Provide total guest satisfaction.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years old or older.
- Must have basic math skills, including an understanding of units of measure.
- Must be able to pass all required tests and training requirements for the position.
- Must be dependable and able to learn basic tasks and follow instructions.
- Must possess reasonable ability to communicate in English both orally and in writing.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including holidays, nights, and weekends.
- Must possess excellent guest service skills.
