Communicate any dietary concerns/information to the dietitian as needed. Shopping for food and supplies as needed and maintaining a clean, safe and sanitary kitchen and dining area, which includes kitchen equipment, in accordance with the agency standards and regulations. Additionally, the Cook will be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized pantry/food storage area. Other duties may include inventory checks, attending meetings and trainings as needed and menu planning. The Cook will be assigned a minimal amount of personal care responsibilities , but may need to play a greater role if program is short-staffed. On average, the Cook with spend approximately 75% of the scheduled shift engaged in meal preparation and 25% with Direct Support Professional responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Some cooking experience and organizational skills
  • The ability to learn, follow a menu and work independently
  • Self-starter, able to create a menu and shop accordingly within the budget
  • High School Diploma/GED is required. Proof will need to be provided prior to employment.
  • Valid NYS Driver's license is required.
