About The Position

The position involves preparing, sautéing, broiling, frying, baking, and grilling food items according to kitchen needs. The role requires operating various kitchen equipment such as grills, fryers, broilers, ovens, and French tops. Responsibilities include performing preliminary preparation work in a timely manner, ensuring ingredient supply levels are accurate, and maintaining a sanitary and organized work area. The employee must understand and adhere to safety and health codes and regulations, ensuring all assigned areas are clean and free of debris. Proper care, storage, use, and cleaning of all tools and equipment are essential, along with demonstrating competent product knowledge by correctly storing and handling perishables. The employee will prepare food products according to standard recipes and specifications and must effectively communicate with other team members, including service and kitchen maintenance personnel. Additional job-related duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required; culinary degree preferred.
  • Hospitality industry experience preferred.
  • Ability to uphold and demonstrate the highest level of integrity.
  • Must be able to obtain a required Virginia Lottery Non-Gaming License.
  • Knowledge of proper cooking temperatures, holding temperatures, and sanitation practices.
  • Knowledge of all kitchen equipment including breakdown, setup, and sanitation.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, holidays, and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, sauté, broil, fry, bake, and grill food items according to kitchen needs.
  • Operate grill, fryer, broiler, oven, and French top as required.
  • Perform preliminary preparation work in a timely manner.
  • Ensure ingredient supply levels are accurate.
  • Move items from shelves to carts and transport them to assigned stations for restocking.
  • Maintain required food items in assigned station from support areas.
  • Maintain a sanitary and organized work area.
  • Understand and maintain proper safety and health codes and regulations.
  • Ensure all assigned areas are clean and free of debris.
  • Demonstrate proper care, storage, use, and cleaning of all tools and equipment.
  • Demonstrate competent product knowledge by correctly storing and handling perishables.
  • Prepare food products according to standard recipes and specifications.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, including service and kitchen maintenance personnel.
  • Assist with any other job-related duties as assigned.
