About The Position

Shelby Gardens Senior Living in Cordova is hiring for a Cook and we are hungry for your culinary skills! As a cook, you will prepare and/or direct the preparation, seasoning and cooking of all salads, soups, fish, meats, vegetables, desserts and all other foods. All meals will be exemplary restaurant quality, nutritionally balanced and attractively served. Our goal is to provide the best food and service for our residents.

Requirements

• HS Diploma or GED.
• Prior cooking experience.
• Ability to prepare and cook a variety of foods in large quantities.
• Awareness of special diets, seasoning requirements, cooking times and temperature controls.
• Ability to estimate quantities of food required and utilize leftovers while serving attractive, appetizing meals.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and/or direct the preparation of all meals including salads, soups, fish, meats, vegetables, and desserts.
• Ensure all meals are of exemplary restaurant quality and nutritionally balanced.
• Serve meals attractively to residents.
