About The Position

The position of a 5-hour Cook/Cashier is now open. Please note the job description is attached. This is a 9 month – 189 days at 5 hours per day total of 945 hours per year position as per salary schedule. GENERAL DUTIES: Food preparation, kitchen and equipment operation and sanitation, preparing reports, operating a cash register, basic computer skills and other related tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Basic cooking skills are required.
  • Must be able to read and interpret instructions on a recipe or cooking guidelines for a product.
  • Must be able to fill out a production record or receive orders accurately.
  • Basic math skills required.
  • Basic computer skills are required including answering district email and using appropriate call off procedures.
  • The applicant may be required to operate a cash register, handle cash, count back change or credit card transactions.
  • The applicant must be willing to participate in mandatory professional development as outlined by the Ohio Department of Education/Child Nutrition regulations, state and local health department and the Marion City School district. This includes obtaining a Servsafe Certification at the level appropriate to the position.

Responsibilities

  • Performs the duties assigned daily by the Head Cook/Nutrition Services Supervisor.
  • Assists in the preparation and service of all menu items.
  • Cooperates with the Head Cook/Nutrition Services Supervisor and other staff to ensure serving timelines are met.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work area including proper cleaning of kitchen equipment as set forth by the district, equipment manufacturer and the local health department.
  • Operates all commercial kitchen appliances and equipment as instructed.
  • Performs other related duties and tasks as assigned by the Head Cook and/or Nutrition Services Supervisor.
