About The Position

Join the food service team at River Valley Therapeutic Residence in Essex, Vermont. Hiring managers will notify applicants who are in the final stage of the interview process of the finger-printing and background check requirement, to which an applicant must agree to be deemed eligible for this position. Applicants will have the right to withdraw their applications before finger-printing and/or a background investigation is conducted. Work is performed in an institutional kitchen during an assigned shift. Incumbents must be able to operate cutters and slicers, handle knives, lift heavy weights (up to 60 lbs.) and work under conditions of high heat and humidity. Duties include supervision of institutional residents or inmates in work situations.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent AND one (1) year or more of experience in volume cooking.
  • High School diploma or equivalent AND completion of a high school level culinary arts career preparation program.
  • Completion of a formal course in commercial food preparation.
