About The Position

Genesis Health Clubs is seeking an experienced and dependable Cook to join our Bar & Grill team at the Blairwood location in Louisville. This is a hands-on position that requires a full understanding of kitchen operations, Safe Serve certification, and the ability to prepare food efficiently and professionally in a high-traffic, member-focused setting.

Requirements

• Prior experience working in a kitchen/cooking role (required)
• ServeSafe Certified (or willing to obtain upon hire)
• Comfortable working afternoons and weekends (required)
• Reliable, punctual, and able to manage time in a fast-paced environment
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic—someone who takes pride in the food they serve
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and stand for extended periods

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and club standards
• Ensure food quality, safety, and presentation are consistently maintained
• Manage kitchen prep, inventory, and cleanliness throughout your shift
• Work independently and as part of a small, high-functioning team
• Follow health and safety regulations (ServeSafe Certification a Plus)
• Assist with closing duties, restocking, and general kitchen upkeep
• Provide friendly interaction with members when needed
