Requirements

• Completion of the Safe Food Handler's Course is preferred.
• Ability to safely handle food according to policies and regulations.
• Knowledge of food storage, serving, and transportation techniques.
• Skilled in the use of kitchen utensils and equipment.
• Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation procedures.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Basic math skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve residents nutritionally balanced meals and snacks.
• Keep the pantry and service areas clean.
• Assist with weekly inventory and receive vendor deliveries.
• Wash and sanitize cooking and serving items, kitchen equipment, walls, and floors.
• Demonstrate positive resident relations and maintain quality care standards.
• Function as a resident services contact during meal periods and process guest meal charges.
• Maintain proper table settings and ensure cleanliness after meals.
• Assist cooks in tracking food and product inventories.
• Attend in-service classes and training as required.
• Follow oral and written directions from cooks and/or Cook supervisor.
