This recruitment offers a $2,000 Signing Bonus to eligible new employees joining UW Medicine Harborview - Food and Nutrition has an outstanding opportunity for a Cook 2. WORK SCHEDULE Full-time, 100% FTE (40 hours per week) Friday-Tuesday, 11:30-8pm and 9:30-6pm Wednesday/Thursday OFF DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION The Nutrition and Food Services department supports Harborview’s mission by delivering extraordinary experiences with compassionate evidence-based care, unforgettable customer service, and fresh and nutritious food for patients, families, and the greater community. Requirements
- Possession of, or eligible for, a food handler's permit AND One year of experience as a Food Service Worker; or equivalent education/experience
Responsibilities
- Prepares accurate, high-quality food for patients to order following standardized recipes and procedures
- Keeps station and cooking equipment clean following all infection control procedures
- Begins and ends tray assembly including service ware, condiments, hot and cold items as they are finished by Line and Cold Pantry Cooks
- Identifies product needs and requisitions items required to prepare tray assembly
- Notifies Sous Chef in advance of expected shortages
- Prepares all lunch/dinner orders accurately and efficiently follows food preparation procedures
