About The Position

The Cook 2 is responsible for assisting with all kitchen operations to ensure daily tasks are completed. The pay range for this position is $20-22 per hour, depending on experience. The Schedule for this role is Sunday - Thursday, 12:00pm - 8:30pm.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Some managerial/leadership experience.
• Basic computer skills, including the ability to send and receive emails and summarize data in spreadsheets.
• Strong communication and listening skills.
• Dependable with good time management and attention to detail.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow privacy rules.

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Minimum 3 years of experience working in a restaurant or catering setting.

Responsibilities

• Complete all tasks, in order, on the prep list provided by Lead Cook and/or Culinary Manager.
• Washing, chopping, and sorting ingredients such as fruits, vegetables, and meats.
• Labeling and stocking ingredients on easily accessible shelves.
• Handle basic cooking duties such as parboiling, preparing salads, etc.
• Assist with serving meals during meal and snack times.
• Communicate client needs to Lead Cook and/or Culinary Manager.
• Work with volunteers and help foster a welcoming work environment.
• Assist with maintaining compliance with all local, state, and federal health and safety regulations.
• Adhere to proper handling, storage, and rotation (FIFO) of food items to minimize waste and maintain freshness.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work area.
• Work in alignment with the company’s Guiding Principles.
• Cleaning dishes, washing cooking utensils and cookware, taking out the trash, and sanitizing kitchen.
• Attend required training and meetings as required.
