About The Position
The Food Service Cook position at Mercyhealth involves performing daily kitchen duties to ensure a safe, clean, and sanitized environment for patients, residents, customers, and partners, with a focus on quality service. The cook is responsible for preparing and planning foods according to menu, order, diet, and standardized recipes while ensuring that the food is palatable, appetizing, and attractive. The role includes utilizing leftovers to avoid waste, properly labeling and dating food products for storage, and maintaining a clean work area. The cook may be required to work overtime and alternate shifts and must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
