About The Position

The Cook 1 is a skilled line cook responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting high-quality food in accordance with established recipes, standards, and guidelines. This role requires proficiency in multiple cooking stations and the ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment. The Cook 1 also assists in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized kitchen.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 2+ years of culinary experience in a high-volume or fine dining kitchen.
  • Strong knowledge of kitchen equipment, knife handling, and various cooking techniques.
  • Ability to read and follow recipes and prep lists accurately.
  • ServSafe Food Handler Certification (or ability to obtain).

Nice To Haves

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Local candidates are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook food items according to standardized recipes and instructions.
  • Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies.
  • Ensure the highest quality of food presentation and taste.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment by following food safety and hygiene protocols.
  • Work all stations including grill, sauté, fry, pantry, and prep as needed.
  • Follow portion control standards and minimize waste.
  • Assist with daily prep lists and production schedules.
  • Communicate effectively with other cooks and kitchen staff to ensure timely service.
  • Report any kitchen equipment issues or food quality concerns to supervisors.
  • Comply with all safety, sanitation, and health standards.
