The Four Seasons Hotel One Dalton Street, Boston, is located in the heart of the Back Bay, a glass skyscraper that is the city's third tallest building. It features 215 spacious guest rooms and suites with floor-to-ceiling windows offering city views, The Wellness Floor (a five-star urban spa), chic restaurants like One+One and Trifecta (known for cocktails and New England fare), and over 10,000 square feet of meeting and event space. Additionally, it houses 160 private residences with unobstructed views of the city, Charles River, Boston Harbor, and extending to the Berkshire Mountains and Cape Cod. The hotel is seeking passionate individuals with keen attention to detail to join its Culinary team as a Cook 1, offering an exciting opportunity to work in one of Boston's most luxurious hotels.

Requirements

  • Requires reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language.
  • Minimum two years culinary or related work experience.
  • Culinary knowledge is expected for this position.
  • Ability to operate, maintain and properly clean deep fryer, broiler, stove, steamer, food processor, mixer, slicer, oven, steam table, tilt kettle iron, flat top grill.
  • Proficient knife skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Must already be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • High School education, cooking school or culinary institute education preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to work, weekend, nights and holidays.
  • Prepare consistent quality food and pastry items according to guest orders following recipe cards and production, portion, and presentation standards.
  • Complete set-up station for breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner service.
  • Start food items that are prepared ahead of time, making sure not to prepare beyond estimated needs.
  • Operate, maintain and properly clean kitchen equipment, including but not limited to deep fryer, broiler, stove, steamer, food processor, mixer, slicer, oven, steam table, tilt kettle, waffle iron, and flat top grill.
  • Date all food containers and rotate as per policies, making sure that all perishables are kept at proper temperatures.
  • Check pars for shift use, determine necessary preparation, freezer pull, and line set up; note any out-of-stock items or possible shortages.
  • Return all food items not used to designated storage areas, being sure to cover/date all perishables.
  • Assist in setting up plans and actions to correct any food cost problems, control food waste, loss and usage per policies.
