About The Position

Join our team at Cedar Trails Senior Living as a Cook, where you will prepare all menu items according to established standards and recipes, ensuring exceptional quality food that is attractively presented in a timely fashion. This position is PRN/As Needed, located in Freeburg, Illinois, with a starting wage of $18.00-$22.00 per hour. You will be responsible for following health protocols, ensuring proper hygiene and sanitary food preparation, and familiarizing yourself with residents' preferences and needs.

Requirements

• Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
• Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English.
• Possess a current Food Handlers Card as specified per the Department of Health.
• Demonstrated skills, knowledge, and competency in leadership, training, and supervision.
• Proficient written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and stoop all day.
• Ability to frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds.
• Comfortable being in close contact with extreme temperatures.
• Ability to work primarily indoors and be available to work outside for events.
• Must be criminally cleared.

Responsibilities

• Prepare all menu items according to established standards and recipes.
• Ensure health protocols are always followed, including proper hygiene and sanitary food preparation.
• Familiarize yourself with the residents and their preferences and needs.
• Participate in resident orientations.
