About The Position

Join our team at Vitalia Senior Residences at Westlake as a Cook! In this role, you will be responsible for preparing all menu items according to established standards and recipes, ensuring exceptional quality food that is attractively presented in a timely fashion. You will also ensure that health protocols are always followed, including proper hygiene, sanitary food preparation, and maintaining proper food temperatures. Familiarizing yourself with the residents and their preferences is key, as you will participate in resident orientations to enhance their dining experience.

Requirements

  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
  • Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English.
  • Possess a current Food Handlers Card as specified by the Department of Health.
  • Demonstrated skills, knowledge, and competency in leadership, training, and supervision.
  • Proficient written and oral communication skills with management and staff.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and stoop throughout the day.
  • Ability to frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds.
  • Comfortable working in close contact with extreme temperatures, including cooking surfaces and walk-in freezers.
  • Ability to work primarily indoors, with availability for outdoor events.
  • Must be criminally cleared.
