About The Position

Black & Veatch has an exciting opportunity for a Conveyance Practice Lead / Senior Project Manager focused on water and wastewater projects and programs in Oklahoma City. This position represents a strategic business opportunity for Black & Veatch to help the company grow its market share by providing world-class water & wastewater infrastructure planning and design services for major pump stations and large diameter pipelines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 15+ years of relevant water engineering experience including but not limited to water and wastewater infrastructure planning, asset management, CIP optimization, detailed design, and construction.
  • Experience managing large water and wastewater programs and projects.
  • Knowledge of local, federal and state permitting requirements and funding mechanisms.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and comfort in a client-facing role discussing technical topics and solutions.
  • Experience providing input and oversight of technical tasks and project teams performing studies and assessments of water and wastewater projects.
  • Proficient with report writing and PowerPoint presentations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work both within a team and independently.
  • Willing and able to travel to project sites and client meetings as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Oklahoma.

Responsibilities

  • Lead major projects or programs from planning through construction.
  • Present updates to external client stakeholders and support decision-making.
  • Provide oversight of the program schedule and budget using Black & Veatch's internal processes.
  • Manage large inter-discipline teams of internal and subconsultant resources.
  • Provide recommendations on client's processes, organization, and readiness to embark on major programs and alternative project delivery.
  • Support the team's use of risk-based assessments to develop and prioritize capital improvement programs.
  • Provide project execution, quality control, and technical leadership to support large water and wastewater projects and programs.
  • Identify innovative solutions to maximize benefits to municipalities and utilities.
  • Lead and provide technical expertise to support marketing and business development.
  • Support pursuit, proposal, and project interview activities.
  • Work closely with Client Directors and the Area Director to develop relationships with clients and decision makers in Oklahoma.
  • Help mentor professionals and grow the Team by identifying high quality candidate and recruits.
