About The Position

Pratt Industries is seeking a full-time Converting Supervisor to join our team. As America’s 4th largest corrugated packaging company and the world’s largest privately-held producer of 100% recycled containerboard, we are dedicated to the environment and sustainability. The Converting Supervisor will supervise approximately 12–30 employees in the daily routine of producing quality corrugated products in a safe and productive manner with minimum waste. This position requires cross-training employees in key positions and maintaining high morale within the department.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Two years prior supervisory experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior work experience in the corrugated industry.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain quality, efficiencies, and production levels set by management.
  • Report quality concerns to Converting and Plant Superintendent.
  • Establish high morale within your department by showing fairness and consistency.
  • Maintain inventories of sheets, inks, and other converting supplies.
  • Coordinate with your supervisor and Maintenance Manager on repairs or preventive maintenance.
  • Keep upper management informed of problems affecting department performance.
  • Conduct weekly Production/Safety meetings with departmental personnel.
  • Communicate with necessary supervision to avoid problems between shift changes.
  • Improve career skills by enrolling in seminars, technical courses, and related college courses.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Additional duties may be assigned by management.
