As a Converting Operator, you will be responsible for performing machine set-up orders, safely operates machine to production target, waste and quality standards, and trouble shoots machine. You will need to be available to work any shift.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 1+ years' operating a converting machine, preferred
  • Ability to stand 8 or 12 hours, walk, bend and twist
  • Ability to lift from 50-100 lbs. when needed
  • Ability to perform mathematical operations using units of English / American currency and measurement of weight, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Must possess reasonable mechanical aptitude

Responsibilities

  • Sets-up machine to standard set-up time & procedure
  • Operates machine to standard production target and waste target
  • Trouble shoots machine when it is down or not performing to standard
  • Responsible for ensuring that the day-to-day operation of the machine is consistent with the policies and procedures which make up the Food Safety & Quality System.
  • Makes adjustments to nip rollers and/or air blowers and/or air suction devices to appropriate positions and force in order to facilitate pickup and delivery of material through machine.
  • Sets indexing control to appropriate position corresponding to tracking production through the machine center and/or sets automatic counter at discharge end of machine.
  • Replenishes material and supplies in order to maintain production efficiencies.
  • Verifies accuracy of machine setup, following guidelines or samples, and observes operation of machine throughout production run and adjusts to improve efficiencies.
