Conversion team members are responsible for event set-up at the Honda Center from one event to the next. This includes setting up for hockey, basketball, concert, family shows, trade shows, rodeo, tennis, theater events, boxing, mixed martial arts events, and other facility set-ups. Conversion team members will work with Conversion Leads and Operations Managers to ensure configurations are followed and all safety standards are met. Conversion team members may also assist in daytime set-up, working closely with Maintenance and Engineering staff with special projects as needed. This is a part-time event-based position that is extremely physically demanding and requires adhering to specific time-sensitive deadlines. Hours of shift will fluctuate based on arena event schedule.

  • Able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and various times of the day
  • Able to understand and perform tasks with AAM-required safety equipment
  • Able and willing to be a team player
  • Able to work in fluctuating temperatures and work on the ice
  • Must be able to lift, pull, push, grasp up to 150 lbs. occasionally and 100 lbs. frequently
  • Must stand, bend, walk, climb consistently through the shift
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Accurately set-up arena based on floor plans and Blueprints along with following all OSHA-required laws
  • Display knowledge of proper safety techniques with hand/power tools, lifting, and other work tasks
  • Perform tasks under extreme time-sensitive deadlines while maintaining a safe work environment
  • Perform a variety of assembly tasks, including, but not limited to: Assembling floors, hockey dasher boards, staging, fight rings, TV Platforms, and any other sports surfaces as needed
  • Set up including media and press areas
  • Installation and removal of hockey glass
  • Installation and removal of ice covering system
  • Set-up up of folding chairs in a timely and accurate method
  • Safely operate tools to assemble arena seating
  • Locker room and showroom set-ups
  • Set-up outdoor staging
  • Operation of electronic equipment like chain and hoist systems, retractable seating systems, and spectator netting
  • Install and remove railing system
  • Clean and maintain equipment as needed
  • Properly store all operations/conversion equipment and report any issues with equipment
  • Clean and organize any other equipment from the backstage area that is not stored correctly and maintain a safe work environment
  • Become familiar with the arena to navigate the building efficiently
  • Work with counterparts in other departments to ensure events run smoothly and safely
  • Support Operations and any other departments as needed and follow management instructions as deemed necessary
  • Complete daily checklists at the conclusion of each shift, making sure all conversion-related tasks are performed correctly upon departure
  • Attend all safety classes as required by Anaheim Arena Management
  • Wear assigned safety equipment to scheduled shifts
