About The Position

The Conversion Manager is responsible for the daily activities required to run, maintain, and service the facility and/or the events by performing the following duties personally or through delegation to stagehands and conversion hands.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university and four (4) years related experience and/or training in the public assembly industry in a supervisory or management position, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Mechanical skills, with working experience in an arena, convention center, or stadium strongly preferred.
  • Experience with OSHA requirements, safety regulations, and emergency response protocols.
  • Work effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedule and produce accurate results in a fast-paced environment.

  • Working knowledge of forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, and other heavy equipment or the ability to obtain certification within 3 months.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to ensure accuracy in event setups, work orders, and team assignments.
  • Ability to think, work, and operate independently
  • Ability to prioritize and to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Problem solving skills including but not limited to conflict resolution, troubleshooting technical and facility services, and emergency response
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal skills required; ability to interact at all levels of staffing, including management.
  • Ability to effectively supervise staff.
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Professional presentation, appearance, and work ethic
  • To perform the job successfully, the individual should have some computer skills with Word and Excel, with the ability to maintain records and generate reports.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision and as a team member.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, in addition to normal business hours.
  • Be licensed and insured to operation a motor vehicle in the United States.
  • Remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur.
  • Must pass corporate background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Forklift, scissor lift experience preferred.
  • Ability to work in AutoCAD is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Create, plan, and implement all normal and necessary quality control documents.
  • Assist in supervising and scheduling all aspects of operations staff, including house staff and temporary labor, ensuring all tasks are completed to a satisfactory and effectively timely standard.
  • Serve as the lead person responsible for conversions on set-ups and changeovers.
  • Meet with clients and vendors on behalf of the organization and communicate needs on their behalf as needed.
  • Work during events and respond promptly to both scheduled and unexpected physical modifications or setup changes required for the event.
  • Implement facility rules, regulation policies and procedures.
  • Anticipate problems and appropriate solutions.
  • Investigate, analyze, and resolve operational problems and complaints.
  • Provide clear, concise, and timely communication of directives to your staff and all departments.
  • Preparing and adhering to event and department budgets set by the director
  • Report irregularities, discrepancies, damage or loss of property or any other safety concerns to the manager
  • Assure facility readiness and smooth operation of events.
  • Serve as Manager on Duty as required.
  • Oversee and manage all conversions and Operations Staff, working with changeover, production, audiovisual, and technical services as needed.
  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Legends Global’s policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; disciplining employees in conjunction with your manager and Human Resources; addressing complaints and conflict resolution.
