About The Position

Airtech is a family-owned, community-focused, global leader founded in 1973, specializing in materials used in the manufacturing of high-performance composite parts for industries such as aerospace, automotive, marine, green energy, and recreational sports. The Conversion Machine Operator performs semiskilled work, operating a variety of equipment and operations, including packaging roll material from the winder. This role involves operating equipment controls for safely loading/unloading rolls for packing and winding/rewinding finished product, preparing samples of finished product, and printing and labeling material to be sent to customers.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
  • Ability to perform some lifting (<50 lbs.).
  • Legible handwriting skills.
  • Ability to understand and carry out routine oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with other employees.
  • Maintain Airtech lift cart certification.

Responsibilities

  • Perform the duty of packaging rolls as it is produced on the machine per work order instructions.
  • Must be able to perform some lifting (<50 lbs.).
  • Obtains material for processing from inventory bins.
  • Advises supervisor if damaged, defective, or missing material is found.
  • Performs machine set-ups according to standard procedures or work order plans provided by supervisor.
  • Checks operating controls and safety stops on equipment prior to operating equipment.
  • Must have legible handwriting skills.
  • Maintains a clean and safe working environment in line with company policies.
  • Reviews work order / drawings and resolves conflicts.
  • Produces and packs product manufactured per work order instructions during shift.
  • Must be able to understand and carry out routine oral and written instructions.
  • Must be able to maintain effective working relationships with other employees.
  • Must maintain Airtech lift cart certification.
  • Notifies supervisor or manager of any potential safety hazards.
  • Performs other tasks and duties as assigned by supervisor.
